One of the great Buck recordings. I was a teenager in the 60s and couldn't wait for the next Buck Owens LP. Buck and the music from Bakersfield was setting the trend and making history. I still have all that vinyl.

Buck Owens was an Original; A voice I just love. And his songwriting had so much feeling, I could cry as if I was the one being hurt. What a great musician he was. Never will be replaced. Marilyn, Sacramento

I remember, back in the sixties, down here in Europe during some of those gray rainy days, I heard Buck singing this great song for the first time. And I was sure: heaven really exists.

Dwight Yoakum sounded just like Don when he harmonized with Buck and I think Dwight was good for Buck after Don passed away.

Having had the opportunity of working for Buck he mentioned in interviews many times that he turned down the bass mix so it would not rumble across the entire song. Remember he was recording for AM radio back in the day. By minimizing the bass and usually bringing the drums forward in the mix producer Ken Nelson and Buck produced some very "clean" sounding music at the Capitol tower in Hollywood.

Buck Owens was a great Country Singer! His music had a tremendous influence on Dwight Yoakam.  I enjoy both of these great singers!

This is the best country song ever made, and that ever will be made, and I can prove it mathematically.

God I love the sound of a steel guitar! It's a damn shame, I hardly hear it in today's "country" music.

In his early days Buck did "sing with himself" by "over-dubbing" his harmony vocals.  But you can tell on this song it is Don Rich harmonizing. Don had a certain "timber" in his vocals and was telepathic as to singing the high's and low's....Always loved Buck's stripped down music...straight forward with great steel runs, telecaster runs and up-front percussion.  What a combination.

Funny, I had the honor of working for Buck and his son's at KNIX, Phoenix. A country station Buck owned.  This Picture of Buck hung on the wall of the station lobby.
