One of the most hauntingly beautiful songs ever recorded---particularly the coda!! It's so ethereal--just pure magic--takes you to a higher realm!! IMHO a masterpiece!!

Well at 2:02 the song just gets absolutely gorgeous.  This ending is sublime - the song has a melancholy wistfulness to it that still rings true.

I could literally listen to this song on an infinite loop, andnever grow tired of it. This is one of THE MOST BEAUTIFUL songs I've ever heard.

I JUST NEVER GET ENOUGH OF THE CODA PORTION OF THIS SONG! One of the most incredible endings I have ever heard.

The guitar and vocals at the end are beautifully arranged. I'd love an extended loop of that!

The instrumental part toward end of this song is amazing and brings me back to my childhood in early 70s. I love this song. During the instrumental at about 2:00 , I feel like a sense of reflecting on my life, trapped between, past and present.

Perfect song. The instrumental spiral-down-into-the-heart part with those vocals has never been duplicated. I'm sitting here crying and loving it. Like I always do. God, we were so innocent then.

Met my girl at Walgreens we used to work the night shift together eventually we fell in love this was our song it came on every day at around 6 pm

One of my favorite songs from my childhood, I would listen to this on my little AM transmitter radio while fishing, What great days I spent on the river listening to music as I fished .

Great time to be a kid and a great time to be alive. The 60s had an amazing mix of traditional values meeting a new exploration of music and life. The mix would conflict at times but that was part of the dynamics that made things so new and fresh. The talent pool was huge. Music and playlists filled with so much variety. And the older generation behind the music scene had major talent for music production. They were well-schooled in all forms of music and were creative at heart. Just a golden age of freedom that still shines to this day.

Maybe one of the best recorded endings to a pop/rock song ever. A great musical arrangement with brillant vocal harmonies. Hal Blaine of the Wrecking Crew on drums. They just don't make them like this any longer

Fun fact, one of the producers of this song, Bob Dorough, was also one of the main composer-lyricists and one of the main performers for "Schoolhouse Rock."

This song has one of THE BEST endings I have ever heard. So ingeniously done! I play this song over and over just to hear this part!!!
