Since the drumming is sucky, he claims it wasn't him playing. He once also tried to take credit for the drumming on the Beatles' recordings with Tony Sheridan, claiming that Pete Best was nursing a hangover that day, and he filled in. Also, in an interview in the 70s, he said there are seven planets in our solar system.
Hey, give the guys a break....who what when. It was then, and that's what they did...Ringo, no Ringo, poor drumming, halfassed, whatever. Vocals typical of thousands of new young bands. It all works for me in the Rock n Roll Time Capsule and glad to have even a recording of what it was.
OMG, I read somewhere years ago that when John & Paul of The Beatles first saw these guys in a club, that they were blown away by their sound. I don't see why they were blown away, forgive me but they stink!
I understand there is some dispute over whether it is really Ringo playing the drums here or not. I decided to include it in my "BeatlesMonkeesDylan" playlist anyway on the chance that it might be him. What the hey? ;)
Ringo Starr isn't interest in inform about his presence in recordings by Rory Storm & the Hurricanes. This just would increase its monetary value. Ringo left in 1961. So, in 1960 recordings he must to be there.
