Frank Sinatra had a "great version of this"? Frank Sinatra didn't have a great version of anything. He sang flat (below the note). The only reason he made it was because the Mob bosses funded him, and foolish girls were attracted to the mushy songs he sang. Mel Torme's version is twice as good as Frank Sinatra's. Anybody is better than Sinatra, and I can prove that.

Singers know what a jewel this voice is, his musicality and easy production are a part of the brilliance and the magic. He get's more out of a simple melody than any other male singer. What grace!

I agree with 'Lengo67'. Sinatra never COULD sing. It was all hype and promotion. He was a fair dancer, as he showed in 'Guys & Dolls', and he was a fine actor, as he showed in 'Not As A Stranger', 'From Here to Eternity', and 'The Manchurian Candidate'. ***Sorry, but I never liked Mel Torme, either.

Some of these comments are heretical . Both Sinatra an Me Torme could sing thats why we ladies loved to hear him. FOR HIS VOICE . Millions are NOT wrong just silly old cynics past their sell by date!!

Guess I didn't appreciate Mel Torme in his "heyday". I sure like him now ~ he makes it seem so effortless.
