They have that "Cocteau Twins-ish" edge to them......hummmm! Didn't one of them produce this, and a few other of their LP/CD's?..

LYRICS..... Wake with the sun What's going on, when you're gone Fall asleep when you're near What's going on, when you're here And sometimes I think if I stand by the phone it may ring And sometimes I worry and fear what tomorrow may bring And you sing And you sing Breathe with your sigh Makes me high, don't know why Touching your skin Wishing you were within Your eyes are like saucers but mine are just clouded in gray I've so much to tell but I can't and you just go away Anyway Won't you stay Wake with the sun What's going on, when you're gone And when I lost control I was cold, and I felt old The ground is beneath me but slowly it's falling away You say we're like children so why won't you come out and play? And sometimes I think if I look at the phone it may ring And sometimes I worry and fear what tomorrow may bring When you sing When you sing Source: MusixmatchSongwriters:  Emma AndersonMonochrome lyrics © David Platz Music, BMG Rights Management (Uk) Ltd., Bucks Music, Bucks Music Group Limited, UNIVERSAL-ISLAND MUSIC, INC., Bucks Music Group Ltd

This song came to me Nov. 1991 blessed-be. I was listening to KCRW FM 89.9 and captured it on tape at 2:45am at that time Los Angeles. My fav of all LUSH songs......I could die to this song and be totally redeemed.......Chris S.

A perfect final track to their best album, so beautiful. Lush were gone far too soon.

There have to be keyboards going on behind the chiming guitars. The sound is so full.

Such a shame about Chris Acland. A really warm, lovely guy.

I first heard this song in a record store when I was a young teen, and I distinctly remember feeling like I might faint. To say my mind was blown would be an understatement. At the time, I knew nothing of Lush, didn't know music like this was possible. Anyway, many years and countless songs/albums later by so many different artists - including about 15-20 releases of my own - Monochrome is still my favorite song ever. My life would have been very different if I hadn't been in that record store in October 1991. Thanks for your indulgence.

I just hope that when Miki and Emma finish raising their kids and then get a bit bored that they will return to music and remake the magic of tunes like this.
