LC was my brother in laws favorite guitarist. They named his precious daughter Katie, may he rest in peace. We lost him a few weeks ago to lymphoma at the tender age of 51. He was a great guitarist and and even better Dad. RIP
Great great song from my favorite album I've heard x times since 1983...
Jeff Porcaro Abe, trotter, mathisson, just to name a few...they're all here
As a guitarist, I've noticed this gorgeous strat sound, probably Valley Arts, I played it, eventually...
Larry is my master, the others also...
Why can't music be like this today instead of all the tripe we hear on the radio
I play guitar and really love Larry Carlton. Steely Dan are my favourite band
I got a lot of inspiration listening to their music that is how I came across
Larry Carlton who played guitar on a lot of the Steely Dan albums. :-)
Many thanks for the musical memory. I was fortunate to see Carlton play at Blues Alley in DC in 1983 with Terry Trotter on keyboard and John Patitucci on bass. So close that I could reach over Trotter's shoulders and played the percussion gear to the right of my feet. So many songs from this album on that tour. Ah, memories.
The first time I really listened to this song, it really struck me hard that this song is about someone Larry Carlton really cared about. It turns out his daughter is Katie.
To me, it reminds me of a girl I used to work with named Catie.
