During my high school years, one of my teachers in art class usually played some background music for his presentations, at a very little volume. The music he chose was relaxing and dreamy, and he had a different selection almost every week. One day I approached him after class and asked which album he was playing. It was exactly this track. He not only showed me some more selections, but he even let me connect my USB stick and take some albums with me. I never saw him again after graduating, but I will never forget that he turned me into a devoted ambient enthusiast.
Truly one of the most emotive ambient pieces I've heard, it's wonder, euphoria and even melancholic, makes me think of a place you want to be but can never get there and that there is something better somewhere out there.
Listening to this on an overnight flight, with everyone asleep around you, and nothing but the light from your little seat TV and the low drones of the engines, is a pretty spiritual experience.
