This and "The Crave" are Jelly's greatest compositions, I'd say.

There are other believers out here, too. I think Morton was one of the greatest talents in American musc. If he didn't actually invent jazz, he certainly shaped it from various disparate elements. I also think he's one of the most fascinating people who's ever lived. Thanks for posting this and the other videos.

Most of his varied works can be found on YT. Thanks for your comment.

OH MAN do I love your comment. I thought I was the only one who believed JRM had as much to do with the development of early "jass' as Satchmo. JRM's music is so distinctive-you would never confuse this with any other composer/artist. Thanks for your comment and for visiting the 1920s museum.

Morton played almost everything ragtime, jazz, blues and the french opera.

I had originally posted this in Dec 2007 but YT took my channel down for too many copyright violations. This was one of the so called "violations"-go figure. It quickly got 7000 views then-go figure again. Guess everyone has already heard this.

Good presentation. I like the way you highlighted the personnel, a group made in jazz heaven. This number up there with 'The Chant'.
