Thank you for the reply. I remember during the summer of 1957, Gayla appeared at the Oklahoma Semi-Centennial celebration, and "Too Young To Have a Broken Heart" was her newest record so she was probably 14.
Thank you so much for posting this! What a blast from my past! My sisters and I had these records as kids growing up in the 60's. We also had 'I Wand a Hippopotamus for Christmas' and 'Are My Ears on Straight?.
Gayla Peevey's songs, especially I Want a Hippopotamus and Are My Ears On Straight? bring back so many happy memories. I visit here often just to get that bit of innocent happiness going again. Thanks a million for this.
Thank you for posting this. I have all my mother's old "unbreakable" Jimmy Boyd and Gloria Peevey records and I used to listen to them all the time when I was little. Now my record player just "skims" everything without playing anything. Thanks to you I can share this with my child.
