DIzzy said he and bird created bop in the 40s but in my humble opinion Charlie Christian was and with birda and tatum the founder and starter of bebop in the swing sense being that tatum swung but to fast to be felt so most dont understand that bird took many of tatums lines slowed em down made em swing but people can't fathom tatums direct contribution the "bebop"musical language
